Artist's Description
Gwenfaens Pillar Rhoscolyn, Anglesey As legend has it, St Gwenfaen from whom the church at Rhoscolyn and medieval well nearby are named after, took refuge on top of this rock stack after fleeing her hermitage from viking raiders. As the tide came in and threatened to cover her rocky refuge, the angels descended and carried her away. Rhoscolyn is a village located on Holy Island, Anglesey, Wales. It is just over five miles south of Holyhead and is the most southerly settlement on the island.

Ian Mitchell is a photographer and digital artist who specialises in landscapes, seascapes and indoor architecture. Ian frequently visits the Snowdonia National Park, to capture endless, evocative, and powerful images.
